SKELETONS scoops Edinburgh's top prize

Derbyshire writer/director Nick Whitfield has won Edinburgh International Film Festival’s prestigious Michael Powell Award for his EM Media co-financed feature film SKELETONS. The film is the third EM Media-backed feature film to win the Michael Powell Award since 2006
Edinburgh International Film Festival is renowned as a festival that discovers and promotes the film world’s brightest new talent. Its Michael Powell Award recognises the Best New British Film of the year and is Edinburgh's top prize.
EM Media has now backed three Michael Powell winners in five years; BROTHERS OF THE HEAD in 2006, CONTROL in 2007 and SKELETONS in 2010. The latest award cements the reputation of EM Media as a keystone investor in British film, and the East Midlands’ reputation as home to the UK’s most exciting new film talent.
