Skillset launches A Bigger Future 2 - the training and education plan for the UK Film Industry

Skillset works towards ensuring the UK film workforce is as highly skilled as possible so the industry can continue to compete successfully in the global marketplace. It has recently launched the second stage of its UK film skills strategy, A Bigger Future 2, which outlines its funding priorities for the next three years.
Skillset aims to plug skills gaps in the UK film industry both now and in the forseeable future -and enable the most talented people get access to the training they need.
After research and consultation with industry, it uses findings to implement solutions around gaps in skills and training so the workforce can respond to the various changes it faces, such as new technologies or the impact of convergence.
As part of A Bigger Future 2, the UK film skills strategy, Skillset has announced its new strategic priorities for film in 2010 - 2013. The five funding priorities are:
* Training in new technologies
* Improving business skills
* Developing creative talent
* Supporting new industry trainees
* Enhancing health and safety skills
