Deadline approaching! Not long to enter your project for the CIN 2010 Derby Creative Business Awards

Businesses across Derbyshire are invited to enter a new set of awards which celebrate the success of the county's creative industries. The Derby Creative Business Awards, organised by the Derby Creative Industries Network (CIN) and backed by the Derby Telegraph, are open for entries until 5 September.

Open to any creative business based in Derbyshire, the Derby Creative Business Awards celebrate commercial success and innovation.

In order to enter, firms have to prove during the last financial year outstanding achievement in their field, business growth or produce evidence of an innovative, creative approach that has helped the company overcome a business problem.

Entries will be judged by a team of experts in the field of creativity and business.

There are a total of nine categories:

The Photography and Film (lens-based media) category is open to photographers, film-makers and others working with still and moving images.

Graphic Design and Illustration is aimed at graphic designers, artists, illustrators and related businesses working in print, digital and other media.

Computer games companies are invited to enter the Digital Gaming category and website designers and other interactive media artists and businesses can put themselves forward for the Digital Media award.

Other categories include Arts and Crafts, Architecture and Interior Design and Best Marketing Campaign.

There is also a category for Best Live Event, open to anyone involved in a significant performance activity such as a festival or events programme.

And Best Creative Team/Individual is open to any company wishing to celebrate talent within their own or other teams.

Applications are now being accepted. Entry costs are £25 for CIN members and £50 for non-members. The entry fee covers five free tickets for the awards event and reception, which will take place at the Quad on Tuesday, September 21 and be presented by renowned designer Wayne Hemmingway will be the host for the evening.

The deadline for submissions is 5pm on Sunday 5 September.
